From the Atlantic coast to the Great Smoky Mountains, Dylan has called every region of North Carolina home. His childhood was split between Winston-Salem, NC, an artsy post-industrial city where he discovered a passion for writing and language, and a family farm nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, where he developed interests in hiking, gardening, and foraging.
Dylan later studied at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in English and Spanish. He studied abroad in Santander, Spain, then spent a two-year hiatus in Austin, Texas, before eventually returning to North Carolina to complete his education.
After graduation, Dylan took on freelance writing and editing gigs, partnering with prominent local brands and authors, and also worked as a copywriter for a digital marketing agency in Winston-Salem. When the mountains called, he moved to Asheville, NC, where he served in managerial roles in operations and marketing.
He’s since retreated to Franklin, North Carolina, where he lives with his wife and menagerie of pets. Dylan spends his spare time reading, cooking, hiking, and cultivating mushrooms.
