The Freestone
Bozeman sits at the edge of the Gallatin and Yellowstone wilderness, a city that’s grown fast without losing its rugged character. The Freestone needed to speak to a sophisticated, lifestyle-driven audience used to big-city amenities but drawn to the freedom and beauty of the American West, and make the case that moving to Montana isn’t a trade-off, it’s an upgrade.
It also had to land with locals. Bozeman residents carry deep pride in their city’s identity, so anything that felt imported would fall flat. The Freestone needed to feel genuinely of this place: timeless, grounded, and earned.
We positioned The Freestone around the idea of the new American pioneer, someone with a wild spirit and contemporary taste who wants full access to the outdoors without giving up the texture of modern city life. The narrative drew on the storied traditions of the West while speaking to a new generation of residents, and made the point that walkable downtown Bozeman and the open wilderness aren’t competing perks. They’re two sides of the same exceptional life.
Creatively, our north star was the new-west salon: the place you land after a long day on the Gallatin River, where small-batch whiskey, good company, and a roaring fire are waiting. That balance of storied grit and modern luxury drove every decision, from visual identity to voice, and carried into a fully optimized property website built to pull organic traffic from well beyond Montana and turn interest into signed leases, setting The Freestone up to stabilize quickly from day one.
